Q: Do you have a contract?

A: We provide a contract with a one year Health Guarantee, feeding guidelines and  requirements for providing a safe and loving forever home. Once we have received your "Interest Card" we will email a copy through Docusign of our contract for you to sign prior to you making your $500 deposit. When we receive your deposit we will mark your kitten as reserved on the Available Kittens page.

Q: Why do you choose to either desex your kittens or use SpaySecure?

A proactive approach to curb the breeding of owned cats is essential to prevent unwanted litters. Females can produce 1 to 3 litters, of 1 to 6 kittens, every year. The early onset of puberty, usually at between 5 to 9 months of age, but sometimes as young as 3.5 months of age in females, often comes as a surprise to owners. Unwanted litters are both common and a frequent reason for relinquishment to shelters, where cats under 6 months of age consistently comprise the majority of cats surrendered. Unwanted kittens contribute to stray cat populations, raising concerns for their welfare, and exerting additional stress on some local wildlife populations already impacted by habitat loss, global warming and other predators. As a responsible breeder, I spay our female kittens prior to leaving out cattery. As a result, they will be ready to leave the Farmhouse Brits cattery at 14 weeks.

Your male Farmhouse Brits kitten will be able to leave the cattery at 12 weeks old. We are aware that some of our clients might not be comfortable with early desexing (neuter) for male kittens. As a responsible breeder, I want to ensure that the kittens I provide you are healthy and protected. That's why I've partnered with Spay Secure, a program that ensures the proper neutering of my male kittens to prevent unplanned litters.  The contract is simply a way to ensure that we are doing our part to protect our breed and prevent any potential issues down the road. I have included a link  below to the SpaySecure website that explains to how it works for buyers:  https://owners.spaysecure.com/how_it_works
